Project Update – Italian Villa In Memorial

We are starting a new series to our blog called “Project Update” where we will take you inside our interior design projects and talk about our design process and approach.
This first project is a Italian Villa inspired home in Memorial. It is still a work and progress but we will take you though what we have completed so far. There will be more to come.

THE FAMILY ROOM

We wanted to stay true to the Italian inspired structure of the home, while incorporating some modern details. The crystal chandelier coordinates with the tear-drop crystal table lamp. The inlaid chest and tables have an Old World charm, while the sofa and chairs reflect clean, transitional lines.

Of course, no room is complete without outstanding accessories. The aged gold mirror makes a statement and the picture over the sofa is an original oil painting that brings vivid color to the room.

THE KITCHEN/CASUAL DINING AREA

Architectural onlays were applied to the newly fauxed cabinet doors. ( These were also added to the cabinets in the Family Room ) Hand-painted 3 x 3 Italian mosaic tiles were inserted in the niche. Several pieces of Italian pottery complete the space.

The counter-height bar stools are upholstered in an exotic leather, which blends beautifully with the granite countertops.

The Dining set has a wonderful Italian flair, with a custom hand-knotted rug to complete the “look”.

In our next Project up date we will show you how to keep this style consistent while also transitioning to other rooms. We are currently working on the living room so stay tuned for insights on how we pull that room together.
